A-Plus: “You Cannot Become President in Ghana Without Me on Your Side”
The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, has boldly declared that no one can become president of Ghana without his support due to his growing influence. According to him, “You cannot be a president in Ghana without getting me on your side. It will not happen because I have influence and people who listen to me.”
A-Plus explained that his decision not to contest on the ticket of any political party was intentional, as it gives him the freedom to speak his mind without fear or restriction.
He stated, “I refused to contest as a member of a political party so I could speak my mind to any party chairman or party executive. Today, I can wake up and say whatever I want to the NDC chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, or the NPP chairman, and no one can sack me or suspend me because I won the seat myself and not in the name of a political party.”
He further revealed that he once cut ties with former President Nana Akufo-Addo for eight years, yet still rose to become a member of Parliament. “I stopped talking to Nana Akufo-Addo for eight years, and today I am a Member of Parliament,” he added.
A-Plus To Build Port
Speaking on United Showbiz, a popular Saturday night program on UTV Ghana, A-Plus also unveiled an ambitious development plan for his constituency. He disclosed, “I am going to build a port in Gomoa with no government funding. What I need is just government encouragement.”
According to him, he already has strong backing for the project. “I have people who are ready to support my vision. I will change Ghana. We are going to change Ghana, and anyone who will sabotage us, we will fight to the death,” he emphasized. A-Plus made these remarks while explaining the vision behind the Gomoa Easter Festival, an initiative he organized together with other stakeholders to promote development and unity in the area
