Crystal Palace vs Liverpool: times, how to watch on TV and stream online | Premier League
[ad_1]

Liverpool have been allocated the early kick-off slot again this weekend. It’s the second time in a fortnight that Jürgen Klopp’s team have been denied a lie-in on a Saturday, the fourth time this seasonand all but one of them away from home – something which the Reds manager isn’t exactly ecstatic about. At least the last time out, it was a relatively short journey down the East Lancs Road. On Saturday, it will be a long-haul, four and a half-hour drive down to south London.
Hosts Palace won’t be too happy about it either. Roy Hodgson’s team have been trying to fix their woeful home record – just one win at Selhurst Park this season (against Wolves, at the start of September), two draws and four defeats – the most recent, mid-week to Bournemouth.
Both teams have had to call on their reserve goalkeepers this season – Palace lost summer signing Dean Henderson at the start of the campaign to leave Sam Johnstone as the first choice; Liverpool meanwhile thrust Caoimhin Kelleher into the spotlight after Alison twanged his hamstring in the 1-1 draw at City. The casualty room continues to fill up with Joel Matip the latest to succumb to injury, joining Thiago, Diogo Jota, Andy Robertson and Stefan Bajcetic on the sidelines.
Roy Hodgson has managed both clubs during his career although Palace were still in the Championship during his one and only season at Anfield. This will be the eighth time he faced his old club as Palace boss – all of the previous seven games ended in defeat (although he has beaten Liverpool three times in the past – while at the helm of Fulham and West Brom).

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool: prediction
Palace’s form at home hasn’t been great while Liverpool haven’t fared that much better on their travels – in fact their record on the road this season is worse than Palace’s. Last season’s fixture ended without goals but prior to that, the visitors had posted seven straight wins at Selhurst Park. Palace’s last home win over Liverpool in the league was in November 2014.
While the figures aren’t good, Hodgson’s team remain a tough side to beat at their ground and Liverpool’s issues in defense have been laid bare a few times already this season – notably last weekend against Fulham. The Reds have kept just one clean sheet away from home so far so by that logic you might expect the locals to grab at least one on Saturday. Liverpool’s firepower (joint-third top scorers) would suggest they will find the net as well – with Mohamed Salah one goal away from reaching his 200th for the club.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool
