A Ghanaian media personality, Nana Frimpong Ziga, has sparked widespread reactions following controversial remarks made on the United Show program. The radio and television host claimed that physical appearance alone cannot determine a child’s biological father, stressing that DNA testing in Ghana remains the only reliable way to confirm paternity.
According to Nana Frimpong Ziga, he was drawing from advice shared by his great-grandfather as well as what he described as personal research. He explained that while some cases of alleged infidelity may appear obvious, others are difficult to detect without scientific verification.
He cited an example involving foreign construction workers who reportedly worked on projects in Northern Ghana in 2009. According to him, there were claims at the time that some local women became pregnant, but identifying biological fathers without proper testing proved challenging.
The outspoken presenter also referenced reports about an alleged foreign national who was said to have had multiple relationships in parts of Africa, raising concerns about public health and HIV awareness. He urged the Ghana AIDS Commission to intensify education, testing, and support services for women who may be affected.
The comments have generated debate on social media, with many calling for responsible public discourse when discussing sensitive issues such as paternity fraud, DNA testing, HIV awareness, and women’s health in Ghana.
