Awutu Senya East MP supports families of deceased party executives in constituency

The Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Ms Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, has offered support to the wife and children of the late constituency secretary, Amadu Tuariq.

The deceased served the National Democratic Congress in the Awutu Senya East Constituency of the Central Region in several capacities, including as communications officer and later as constituency secretary, before his sudden demise ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Mr Tuariq is survived by his wife and five children.

In recognition of the hard work and sacrifices of the late party officer, the MP paid a visit to the bereaved family. 

Ms Naa Koryoo praised the loyalty and dedication of Mr Tuariq and announced that four of his children had been enrolled in a private basic school, while support was also being provided for the eldest child, who is currently at the university.

“Amadu Tuariq was one of our hardest-working and unrelenting executives whose sacrifices contributed immensely to our victory in the 2024 elections. It is therefore worthy that we provide support for his family now that he’s no more. I’ve had the four children enrolled in a private school and they would be seen through until they’re done with secondary school, then we look at their tertiary education and others,” the MP said.

She further announced that “support is being rendered to the eldest child of the deceased who is in the university”.

In addition to donating food items to the family, Ms Naa Koryoo also presented a cash amount of GH¢5,000 as part of a Christmas package and pledged to cater for other needs, including rent.

The MP also visited other families of deceased party members within the constituency. She stressed the need to recognise and reward the sacrifices of dedicated party officers even after their demise, noting that such gestures not only encouraged others but also reflected a true sense of humanity.
